Flowering Plant Systematics 5 Day Course

Botanic Garden associates
Monday 2 - Friday 6 July 2012

This very popular 5-day course, now in its 15th year, introduces flowering plant systematics to undergraduates, graduates, professionals and committed amateur botanists.

The aim of the course is to develop your practical observation skills and confidence when approaching the identification of unfamiliar plant material. Professor John Parker, Director of the Botanic Garden, is joined by taxonomists Dr Tim Upson and Dr James Cullen to deliver practical sessions and accompanying lectures that cover 8 major flowering plant families in depth. The course makes extensive use of the Systematic Beds in the Botanic Garden for source material.
