Boraginaceae: an introduction to forget-me-nots, comfreys & alkanets
Owen Mountford
The Boraginaceae bring startling scarlets, electric blues and honey-yellows to landscapes of the Mediterranean. These gaudy colours often change with age, and, when combined with their scorpion-tail flower-heads and bristly foliage, make this family of some 40 British species one of the most distinctive in our flora. Though united by many features, the genera are easily separable one from another. This course will enable you to make progress in recognising British borages, through using illustrations and plants from the Garden.
