There are over 400 species of solitary bees and wasps in Britain. All have fascinating life cycles and exhibit interesting behaviour. Many species can be encouraged to nest in our gardens where they fulfil an important role as both pollinators and predators of garden pests. Bryan will look at indentification of solitary bees and wasps, their ecology, nesting requirements, and how to make nest sites for them. The course will include time spent observing bees on the Garden’s Bee Borders.
