Botanical Illustration in Pen & Ink
Tuesday 7 October – Thursday 9 October 2014
This pen and ink course is open to everyone from complete beginners to more experienced artists who might like to try something different, as well as botanists who would like to draw clear and informative dissections. The course will be very flexible to accommodate every level of student. Day one will cover basic botanical drawing, perspective, textures, light and shade. Day two will include exercises on several pen and ink topics. Day three will be your opportunity to complete an accurate pen and ink drawing, with dissections if you choose to. The whole emphasis of the course is to try everything out and develop the techniques that you like best.
The course is led by RHS Gold Medal winning botanical artist Christine Grey-Wilson, a professional botanical illustrator with many years experience, including 12 years working at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
