Illustrating Insects from the Zoology Museum
Ian Loe
Tue 28 November - Thursday 30 November 2017
Using specimens from the University Museum of Zoology and the Garden’s collections, you will be introduced to the fascinating, beautiful and sometimes bizarre world of insects. Although European examples will be included, the emphasis will be on the exotic; from Giant Atlas Moths to brightly-coloured metallic beetles. Teaching will include a variety of observational and drawing techniques, using pencil, pen and watercolour. Emphasis will be on individual tuition and artists of all ability are welcome. The course will include a brief talk about the insect collection by Ed Turner, Curator of Insects at the Museum of Zoology.
