In last week's gloomy weather, the sun shone for just one afternoon. Thankfully it was the day BBC Gardeners' World had picked to visit our Winter Garden and film a feature piece for the new series of the flagship gardening programme.
With the expert help of Dr Tim Upson, Curator and Acting Director, presenter Rachel de Thame picks out some inspiring plants and planting combinations that not only look fabulous now but that can also provide year round interest.
Claire Johnson, the programme's horticultural researcher reported back after a long session in the edit suite that the film 'is looking lovely and everyone is really pleased with it'.
Gardeners' World is broadcast tomorrow night, Friday 8 March at 8.30pm on BBC 2, repeated on Sunday morning at 8.45am. As the BBC website notes, ours is 'one of the country's most celebrated winter gardens', so do enjoy its moment in the sun!
