Station Road developments

On Monday 10 March, we begin work on installing new railings and gates at the Station Road entrance, requiring its temporary closure.
The Station Road gate will therefore be closed from 10-12 March inclusive. The Brookside Gate at the corner of Bateman Street and Trumpington Road remains open as usual.

Once the new Station Road Gate is installed, work will continue to replace the adjacent railings, which we anticipate will be complete by the end of March.

The project will bring improvements to both public access and out-of-hours security and will improve the streetscape in this high-footfall part of town.

On the Garden side of the boundary, we have been undertaking an extensive re-planting programme to bring a long season of herbaceous colour immediately around the gate ares, feathering in to new bird-friendly mixed tree plantings along the railing boundaries.
