Through an Arts Council-funded residency, Kate Swindlehurst has been at the Garden for almost a year developing a novel approach to the journal form as a place where fiction, record keeping, diary entries and non-fiction can work together to tell the story of her time at the Garden. Kate will discuss her sensory and creative response to the landscape, its plants and people and share readings from her latest work.
Her experiences are counterpointed by the extracts from Voicing the Garden, a project run by Juliet Day at the Botanic Garden, to collect and share the stories of those who have worked at, grown up in or simply enjoy the Garden.
Dame Bradbury's School Theatre provides an intimate and comfortable venue for this discussion style event, beginning at 2.30pm, Sunday 16 March..
