The Botanic Garden is greatly supported in its work by a growing team of volunteers within our public education programme and in welcoming and guiding group visits to the Garden.
However you decide to help us, there is a formal induction process, including signing up to our volunteer charter, which all volunteers take part in. We also organise specific training and CRB checks when necessary. We are not currently recruiting horticultural volunteers.
We value our volunteers and hope that they gain as much from helping us as we gain from their support for our work. Volunteering at the Garden can help you develop new skills and friendships, and add to your CV. It can easily fit in with other work and home commitments.
But it also provides an opportunity for us to learn from your experience. So if you have skills that you would like to share with the Botanic Garden that are not covered below, please get in touch to talk to us about what you have to offer.
