Group Visits (for 10 or more)

The Botanic Garden makes a wonderful destination for a leisure or special interest group at any time of year. We regularly welcome visits from a wide range of groups including photography clubs, horticultural societies, social clubs, U3A and WI groups, to name but a few.

Groups of 10 or more people must pre-book with at least one week’s notice. Advance booking helps us to stagger the timing of groups and to reduce the strain on the Garden and its facilities and services, such as the Garden Café and Botanic Garden shop. Please note that we are unable to admit groups who have not pre-booked.
To make your booking, please download the appropriate Group Booking Form from the link to the left and return it to us as soon as possible.

Group Booking Form A is for groups of adults (age 18+) only.

Group Booking Form B is for groups who have anyone under the age of 18 in the group.

If you are a UK school or college following the UK curriculum and are visiting for Educational purposes you will need to book using our Education Booking Form. Please follow the link “Educational visits UK Schools and Colleges” to the left.

We ask group leaders to familiarise themselves with our Rules of admission and Guidelines for Groups prior to visiting. These are available to download from the link to the left.

For groups bringing children aged 16 and under, we require adult supervision ratios as follows:
Age 7 and below – 1 adult:5 children
Age 8-16 (inclusive) – 1 adult:10 children

Please note that groups arriving without the correct ratio of supervising adults to children will not be admitted to the Garden.

Once your form has been received we will check availability and send confirmation by e-mail or post, which you should bring with you on the day of your visit.

For a Guided tour of the Garden, its collections and seasonal highlights, please contact the Administration Office on 01223 748450 in the first instance to check availability. Guided tours must be booked, and a deposit paid, at least four weeks in advance.

If you plan to visit the Garden Café with your group please follow the link left to peruse the group booking menus.

The Garden does not have any public car parking or coach parking. We advise groups arriving by coach to download the Information for coach drivers from the link left.
