The Botanic Garden occupies a 40-acre site less than a mile south of Cambridge City Centre, bordered by Trumpington Road (A1309) to the west and Hills Road (A1307) to the east.
The Garden has two entrances:
- the Brookside Gate is located at the corner of Trumpington Road and Bateman Street
- the Station Road Gate is located behind the War Memorial at the junction of Hills Road and Station Road.
Both Gates are open daily.
The Garden does not have any public car parking or coach parking. Groups arriving by coach are advised to download the coach parking map for Cambridge from the link left.
Trumpington Road roadworks
During highway works on Trumpington Road from January to June 2017 there will be no parking available along Trumpington Road. However, there are a few pay and display bays on Bateman Street, 2 hour maximum stay, that operate every day. Blue badge holders may park in these pay & display bays free of charge with no time limit. Please allow extra time for your journey into Cambridge during the highway works. More information can be found on the Cambridge County Council website. See Useful Links on the left of this page.
If travelling by car, we advise you to use the Park and Ride services, see Useful Links on the left of this page. The Trumpington Park & Ride (off J11, M11, open daily) delivers and collects near our Brookside entrance. The Babraham Park & Ride, near the Gog Magog Golf Course, stops at the train station, from where it is a short walk up Station Road to the Station Road Gate.
There is a dedicated Bicycle Park for Garden visitors on Bateman Street, 65 metres from the Brookside Gate, and a further visitor Bicycle Park area at the Station Road Gate.
