March 2012 was another dry month with only 22.0mm of rainfall, with the major part coming in the first week. After 7th March, only 2.3mm of rain fell in the remaining 24 days. This meant very good hoeing conditions again early in the year. There were three slight air frosts with the lowest of these being -1.3c on the 19th, so the Magnolia flowers survived and did not brown this month. There were twenty ground frosts.
There was some high pressure and, depending on the movement of this, there was some very warm and sunny days for the time of year, 21.3c was reached on the 28th.
