Two positions are available in this new role, working hours as required within the Customer Services team of the Administration Division of the Botanic Garden.
Responsible to the Customer Services Team Leader, the Customer Services Assistants provide excellent front of house service. They welcome visitors, staff the reception area and ticket offices, sell publications and membership, patrol the Garden to ensure the safety and security of its collections, buildings and visitors, ensure public areas are clean and fully stocked, and assist in setting up rooms for events and activities. Includes working outside in a wide variety of weather conditions.
They should be educated to GCSE level standard or equivalent (including English and Mathematics) and be committed to providing first-class customer service. Previous experience of cash-handling, cash tills and computers is required. Good telephone manner and the ability to deal with people at all levels. They need to be adaptable and able to step in as required to cover staff shortages, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
