Grade 8, £32,901-£44,166 per annum pro rata
This is an exciting part-time post that oversees the education and outreach programme of the Botanic Garden. The post-holder will lead the education team and will have specific responsibility for the development and running of the Garden’s programme of courses. The education team includes two other part-time education officers who oversee the other major strands of activities: the schools programme and community outreach. Administrative support is provided. Responsibilities of the post include: course programme planning and development; course tutor support, community education development; publicity/advertising; information materials design and development.
Educated to degree level, preferably in a science subject, the post-holder will have several years’ experience of working in the field of education with regular contact with the public. It is essential that they possess a sound understanding of both commercial principles and the educational context within which the Garden provides life-long learning. The successful candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills, be a creative thinker and team player and possess the ability to translate ideas into reality.
