Grade 3, £18,005-£20,764, per annum pro rota
Part-time, 32 hours per week average. Days of Work: Friday to Monday inclusive, including Bank Holidays. Hours of Attendance: 0900h-1720h (October to March inc) and 0900h-1820h (April to September inc).
Required to manage a team of four Visitor Services Assistants. Educated to ‘A’ level standard or above (including English and Mathematics to GCSE level) the successful candidate will hold, or be prepared to undertake training to obtain, a valid First Aid at Work Certificate. They must be committed to leading a team to provide a first-class visitor service, be responsible, articulate, numerate and IT literate with an interest in plants and the environment. They must possess exceptional front of house and team-leading and team-working skills, together with an ability to deal with a variety of people in a friendly and professional manner. They must have a good telephone manner and be able to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with complaints and difficult situations
They must have previous experience of both supervising and training staff, preferably within a visitor-orientated environment. This should include experience of cash handling and cashing up procedures. Familiarity with administration procedures, security matters, cash tills and EPOS systems, computers and protocols governing the use of transceivers is desirable. They must also be willing to work outside and undertake practical manual tasks in a wide variety of weather conditions.
