This February has been mild and wet from start to finish. With a maximum air temperature of 14.1 on the 24th we can see that the month pushed us well into an early spring. We have had a few storms and gales, causing Garden closure on the 14th and 15th.
We have had a lot of rain with 60.9mm in total. A large chunk of 23.1mm fell on the 6th, though Cambridge has again escaped this heaviest rain expereinced by the west and north of the country, and we have only had a little trouble in the Garden with flooding on the paths.
Though there were no air frosts this month, there is still a danger of them, and ground frosts are still quite prevalent but we hope to see these die out in the next month or two.
Look our for the first real signs of spring around the garden as the buds start to burst.
