The Writhlington School expedition to Rwanda has started well with a day of workshops on Friday at FAWE School, Kigali.
Writhlington students gave workshops to FAWE students on orchid botany, data logging, aseptic media preparation and an introduction to 3D printing. The students will be working together over the next two weeks and then present their learning and research at a public event at FAWE School.

Students also worked to begin setting up FAWE's new orchid propagation laboratory and today FAWE students will sow the first seed in the new laboratory.

Yesterday’s work was watched from nearby trees by some of Rwanda's fantastic bird life including a hadada ibis, black-headed weavers and black kites
