Cambridgeshire was once a major producer of apples and other fruit (this is reflected in the many apple-inspired street names in the City), but only 20% of orchards documented in 1950 survive today, and orchard acreage is still declining due to development, neglect or conversion to arable land. Nevertheless, the Apple Day Tasting Tent will feature 30 locally-grown varieties to try before you buy, including many seldom sold and heritage varieties so come and discover and celebrate the diversity of the autunmn apple harvest this Sunday.
