Persian Ironwood

The beautiful Persian Ironwood, Parrotia persica is just beginning to colour up, with the large leaves turning a burnished copper and raspberry pink.
From the Persian Ironwood, there is a breathtaking view back across the Systematic Beds to the lollipop shaped Crategus persimilis var prunifolia which is smothered in deep vermillion fruits against gold and copper foliage, the dome set off by the glaucous branches of the Cedrus atlantica behind.
