Dawn Redwood & Swamp Cypress

A pairing of Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) and Swamp Cypress (Taxodium distichum) ignite in the autumn.

The Swamp Cypress grows out of the lake bed, so that this cone-shaped tree sends a lick of fire across the still surface of the Lake. The closely-related Dawn Redwood provides a pinky-copper shaddow.
