Ricki began screen printing on textiles professionally over 30 years ago when she moved to the Cambridgeshire Fens from South Africa. She found the space and the quiet of the fens enabled her to pursue what has become her life’s passion – the placing of colour and pattern onto cloth. After several years of selling prints at market stalls and fairs it occurred to Ricki that it would be wonderful to share the excitement of the print process with other people. Nowadays, she teaches screen printing in all sorts of community and classroom settings. It still gives her pleasure to see the look of delight on a student’s face when they lift up a screen and discover the resulting print. Over the years Ricki has expanded her interest into a range of other textile arts, but screen printing has always won out as her all time favourite.
