Join botanical artist Penny Price to cover the basics of watercolour technique by focusing on early spring flowers such as cyclamen. This three-day course will demonstrate how to add pattern and light on leaves, and how flowers can be incorporated to make a pleasing composition in watercolour on paper. A suggested materials list will be provided a few weeks before the start of the course. Open to all levels with group and individual guidance.
Penny initially trained as a teacher and then made a career as a scribe and illuminator. Then in 2013 she gained a Diploma in Botanical Art and Illustration. In 2014, she was awarded an RHS Silver Gilt medal for her botanical art. She has works in various collections including RHS Lindley Library, the Hunt Institute, and the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
