The maintaining herbaceous perennial beds and borders workshop will cover basic care and maintenance techniques to create a successful and long-lasting planting scheme. The workshop will cover different planting styles and the reasons for using perennial plants in these schemes. It will highlight seasonal tasks including planting, plant establishment, and various pruning techniques including deadheading and pinching. The attendees will have an opportunity to work on the Herbaceous Island Beds and learn about autumn maintenance work including cutting back, plant division and mulching.
Andrea is a Senior Horticulturalist looking after the Eastern Displays at Cambridge University Botanic Garden. She has over ten years of horticultural experience gained in a variety of settings and has trained with the RHS and Kew Gardens.
