Using dip pens with ink, or technical pens we shall study and draw a variety of mushrooms and toadstools. Various techniques will be used, including stipple, line and tone in ink at full strength and diluted, on hot pressed watercolour paper. Pencil studies will be made first.

All abilities and experience are welcome and teaching is both centred in the group as a whole and to each individual.

Originally a teacher, Penny Price retrained to become a calligrapher, and then a botanical artist, After training at the Chelsea School of Botanic Art, Chelsea Physic Garden, London, she was awarded a Silver Gilt medal by the RHS in 2014.  She teaches at Kew Gardens, Chelsea Physic Garden and here at Cambridge University Botanic Garden. Penny’s work is included in various collections including the Fitzwilliam Museum and Sydney Royal Botanic Garden Florilegium Society archive, and she is a Fellow of both the Hampton Court Palace and the Chelsea Physic Garden Floregium Societies.
