On this course we will be working on the wonderful range of small mountain plants that grow in the Garden's Alpine house and outdoor Rock Garden
The plants for classroom use will be growing in containers making it easier for participants to illustrate the specimen at close range. There will be opportunities to visit the Glasshouse and Alpine garden throughout the course in order to see plants in their natural settings. The choice of alpine flowers might include Gentians, Primulas, Cyclamen and dwarf varieties of Iris and Tulips.
Through group demonstrations and individual tuition, guidance will be given in accurate drawing and painting techniques. An important element of this course will be showing the subject in its own environment of rocks, stones, grasses and moss and even possibly a distant mountain or pine trees.
This course is suitable for all levels.
