Join RHS medal-winning garden designer, Paul Herrington, who will share his top tips and skills to help you to make a start designing your own garden.
You will take inspiration from the extraordinary surroundings of the Botanic Garden, with walk and talk sessions as well as Classroom based discussions and talks. The course is designed for absolute beginners.
• Session 1 (12 Sep) Imagine your Garden: design principles, ideas and inspiration.
• Session 2 (26 Sep) Measure and record: simple surveying and scale drawing.
• Session 3 (10 Oct) What goes where: developing a basic layout plan for your garden.
• Session 4 (7 Nov) Right plant, right place: the basics of creating planting plans for year round structure and interest.
Paul Herrington has designed and created many private, public and health-care gardens over the past 30 years. He has also organised therapeutic horticulture projects for people with physical and psychological health issues.
The price is for all 4 sessions which cannot be booked individually.
