Working indoors directly from plant specimens from the Botanic Garden’s collection and, outdoors working ‘en plein air’ in the Garden, this two-day course will focus on how to capture plant forms and structures.
Using a restricted palette of colours you will learn practical techniques and observational skills that will help you to develop your painting ability. Artists’ quality watercolour paint, paper, brushes, boards and easels will be provided to use during the sessions, but students are welcome to bring their own materials if preferred.
This course is suitable for artists of all levels.
