Reporting to the Team Leader (Garden Landscapes) the two role holders will be responsible for caring for specific areas of the Garden and its collections.
Both positions are full-time; Monday-Friday (36.5 hours per week)
Salary: £23,487-£27,116

Assistant Horticulturist (Landscape and Machinery)
The role holder supports the Garden Landscapes team on the maintenance of the hard landscape areas of the Garden including paths, maintains turf areas and composting areas, hedges throughout the Garden and provides servicing and repair of equipment and staff training in the safe use of machinery. The collections and areas within this role are popular with visitors and are an important resource for research and education purposes within the Garden, University and the wider botanical and horticultural community.

Assistant Horticulturist (Trees and Shrubs)
The role holder supports the Garden Landscapes team on the maintenance, care and curation of the trees and other wood collections. The tree collection is one of the finest in the East of England, of great heritage value and of international significance. The role includes the care and maintenance of associated herbaceous plantings and turf areas. There is also a requirement for occasional arboricultural work.
Excellent plantsmanship is required in this role to ensure that the collections are developed and maintained. The collections and areas within this role are popular with visitors and are an important resource for research and education purposes within the Garden, University and the wider botanical and horticultural community.
