We are seeking volunteers to support our Visitor Services Team in order to enhance the visitors’ experience in the Garden, especially during events, school holidays and our busier periods.
The role would include a lot of interaction with the public: welcoming visitors at the gates, including Friends and Corporate Friends; providing general information on the Garden and directing visitors; and patrolling our 40 acres, acting as the collections’ eyes and ears and generally promoting expectations of appropriate visitor behaviour, in order to enhance people’s enjoyment of their visit. It would also likely include some time spent evaluating our visitors by way of carrying out 1-1 exit surveys, which is a really important way of finding out what we can do to improve our visitor experience.
We are looking for polite, friendly, enthusiastic individuals with good communication skills who enjoy public interaction and would be willing to help visitors make the most of their visit, whilst being mindful of protecting the Garden’s collections. Ideally, you would be available for a regular – for example weekly – shift of 2-3 hours, plus some events.
If you are interested in this role, please download Further Information and the Expression of Interest Form below. Please complete and return the form by Wednesday 12 February 2020.
