The Botanic Garden welcomes many groups throughout the year, many of whom enjoy a Guided Tour as part of their visit. Guided Tours are an important part of the Garden’s outreach programme and aim to increase the educational value, interest and enjoyment of a visit to the Garden. We also offer free tours at weekends and for special events.
Our Volunteer Guides play a vital role in the public profile of the Garden and receive comprehensive training to enable them to share information about both the history of the Garden and its collections with members of the public.
We are looking for enthusiastic communicators who enjoy engaging with the public, along with a strong interest and good knowledge of plants and trees and a willingness to learn more. We need people who can offer flexible availability to help support tours running Monday-Sunday throughout the year and who can commit to our comprehensive one-year training and mentoring programme.
