Painting Winter Trees

John Wiltshire
Tuesday 4 February 2014

Wrap up warm ready to work 'en plein air' using a tonal ink wash technique to capture the beautiful trees of the Botanic Garden. This technique, often used for preparatory sketches, is ideal for working rapidly in difficult weather conditions and will be familiar to anyone who has studied art history. You will learn practical skills that will help you paint in the open air. Ink, artists'-quality brushes, paper, stools, boards and easels will be provided, along with plenty of hot drinks. You can, of course, bring your own materials if you prefer. The course is suitable for all levels.
