Creative Plant Photography July CANCELLED

Pete Murray
Saturday 7 July 2018

This course is designed for more experienced photographers and is only suitable for those using SLR/CSC cameras with changeable lenses.

Led by photographer Pete Murray this course will focus on garden landscapes, and creative plant portraits including close up detail. It is designed for more advanced SLR and CSC cameras only. If you are less confident with your camera we suggest that you do the Introduction to Garden photography course first. Pete will use Aperture mode to show you how to set up and use your digital camera to take more creative pictures.

Following a short studio session to look at the effect of lighting, background and focus in close-up photography, you will move outside to make the most of the shape, colour, texture and seasonal interest in the Botanic Garden. Pete will show you how to master the key elements of composition and lighting and how to take control of exposure and focus for more difficult subjects or situations. During the day you will also use graduated filters in landscape photographs and panorama techniques. SLR and CSC camera owners who have a choice of lenses will also have the opportunity to try these out. Summary handouts will be provided for your own use at home.

Please note that a tripod is essential for this course, useful for both the landscape and close-up sessions. The tutor also recommends an adaptor and screw-on square (P size) filter holder to fit your camera lens filter thread at the front, with a (P size) square graduated Neutral Density ND4 filter.

You will need to provide the make and model of your camera when booking.
