Eastern Influences on Flower Painting

Georita Harriott
Wednesday 2 May - Friday 4 May 2018

On this three-day course with tutor Georita Harriott, you will explore examples of Eastern decorative art, in particular the borders surrounding paintings, which contain flowers and animals and are depicted in a flat and highly stylised form. You will then design your own decorative illustrations in the Eastern style, taking inspiration from plants in the Botanic Garden’s collection which come from places such as Turkey, Iran and India.

All stages will be demonstrated by the tutor, including drawing and designing, the beautiful rich colour mixing of the East and the laying down of flat opaque colours in even layers. Individual tuition will be given to each student depending on their particular needs.

The course is suitable for all levels.
