Painting Late Summer Produce

Petula Stone
Thursday 6 September - Friday 7 September 2018

We will be looking at allotment bounty at this time of year for inspiration for this two-day watercolour painting course. Seasonal fruit and vegetables and late summer flowers will offer the botanical artist or flower painter a wide variety of subject matter in terms of colour, form and texture. Careful thought will be given to composition which could include cross sections of fruit and vegetables and hand lettering if desired.

Petula will demonstrate all the techniques needed for successful watercolour painting; 'wet into wet', dry brush, glazing, and colour mixing, with an emphasis on mixing greens. A combination of group and individual tuition will be used.

Petula has illustrated vegetables in season for Country Living magazine, and her illustrations of fruit have been commissioned for packaging for the National Trust, Ahmad Teas, Heath and Heather, Marks and Spencer and Harrods.

The course is suitable for all levels.
