Illustrating Plants with Coloured Pencil for Beginners

Janie Pirie
Friday 19 October

This workshop is a chance for anyone wanting to try their hand at botanical illustration using coloured pencils. Watercolour has proved quite ‘scary’ to many budding artists but the coloured pencil is a more controllable medium and lends itself perfectly to botanical illustration. Janie Pirie has been awarded two RHS Gold Medals for her illustrations using coloured pencils, and will share all her technique secrets with you.

Leaves gathered from the extensive collection at the Botanic Garden will be the subject for this one-day course. These will provide a range of green or autumn colours from which to choose.

This course is designed for beginners.
