Hamamelis japonica 'Zuccariniana'

The pale yellow flowers of Hamamelis japonica 'Zuccariniana' illuminate a corner of the Winter Garden.
When grown in moisture-retentive, acid to neutral soils the witch hazels are reliable winter-flowering plants. This form of the Japanese witch hazel is no exception, bearing a profusion of tassel-like flowers with wrinkled petals in late winter and early spring. It is an upright shrub to 4m in height and width, with open branches. The autumn leaves take on yellow tints to extend the season of interest.
