Acer palmatum 'Sango-Kaku'

On the periphery of the Bog Garden, in an unusual combination with the Kaffir Lily, Schizostylis coccinea, and a Swamp Cypress, stands a group of the Coralbark Maple, Acer palmatum 'Sango-Kaku'.
The coral bark with pale bloom reflects beautifully in the Lake on a still day. As the the branches divide down and down to the whippy new growth, the coral becomes a vivid flamingo pink.
