Looking good now
Through the Woodland and on the Systematic Beds, hoops of orange and yellow crown imperial bells sporting a tuft of bright green leaves are standing in joyful crowds.

Chengtu Lilac

Along Lynch Walk, the Chengtu Lilac, Syringa sweginzowii is a graceful sight. The panicles of pendulous flowers in the palest pink and white of sugar mice release a spicy but sweet scent on the air. The long tubular flowers have four daintily recurved and notched petal tips.
Coming into flower long after the more widely grown Lilacs (Syringa vulgaris)and with fine foliage, this small tree is an inexplicably rare sight in UK gardens.
