Sorbus decora

This North American tree, sometimes known as Showy Mountain Ash or Dogberry, is grown as a lone specimen in the Autumn Garden. It makes a neat rounded dome of glaucous compound pinnate foliage, the leaflets arising from a pinkish rib. Large clusters of vermillion fruits, more properly called 'pomes' make the tree a striking focal point until the birds strip them over the winter.
