Peonies and Geraniums along Lynch Walk

The Lynch Walk that leads from Brookside Lawn to the Glasshouse Range is gorgeous in late spring. Just tumbling out into bloom now is a rainbow of peony species including golden yellow tree peonies, bright satin pink Paeonia suffruticosa varieties and lovely opalescent Paeonia mlokosewitchii (fondly and more prounounceably known as 'molly the witch'), the alabaster blooms shining out of the gloom, each petal with raspberry brushmark at the base highlighting the nest of golden stamens.
The peonies are interspersed with good examples from our National Collection of species Geranium, but these are not quite out in flower.
