This lovely multi-stemmed tree overhangs the path alongside the Winter Garden, the close knit, over-lapping leaves making a now a richly-coloured canopy. The three-lobed leaves are serrated, clearly veined and each gradated from a lime geen edge through pale yellow, pink, copper and orange to a deep, purplish burgundy at the heart.
As the leaves fall to the ground to become a kelim under the feet, the wonderful 'snakebark' trunk in greyish green with diamond markings is revealed.
