Cortaderia selloana

These huge pampas grasses are a cheer-leader's pompom of whippy dark green foliage out of which rise 10-12 foot tall robust stems topped with silvery feathers.
The flowers tower over the Systematic Beds, seeming to belong more to the treescape of the Main Walk behind.
