An absolute show-stopper, the clump of South African bird-of-paradise just outside the Continents Apart display is starting to produce its spectacular flowers. The boat-shaped green spathe ferries flowers that arise in succession in a stunning combination of marigold orange calyces with gas-flame blue corollas.
