Looking good now
Through the Woodland and on the Systematic Beds, hoops of orange and yellow crown imperial bells sporting a tuft of bright green leaves are standing in joyful crowds.

Ribes odoratum

The clove currant in the Scented Garden is a shrub of great freshness and vigour at this time of year. The bright yellow, shiny petals peel back at the tip of a long corolla tube, like banana skin, to expose a crimson eye. The scent is tingly, spicy, redolent of cloves.
An added bonus in autumn is the ragged lobed foliage which turns scarlet.
