Liquidambar reflections

Planted just behind an American sweetgum that was denuded weeks ago in this cold weather, is its Turkish relative, Liquidambar orientalis. This tree is still closely covered with small, pointed lobed leaves, knitted together into an exquisite rhubarb and custard tapestry.
