Looking good now
Through the Woodland and on the Systematic Beds, hoops of orange and yellow crown imperial bells sporting a tuft of bright green leaves are standing in joyful crowds.

Opuntia microdasys

The bunny ears or polka-dot cactus is a mass of light green rounded pads studded with dense tufts of yellow glochids, fine barbed hairs that detach easily and can cause severe skin irritation if left untreated. The Arid Lands plant is now producing open bowl shaped flowers in bright 50s yellow, each wedge shaped petal bearing a teeny pointed quiff.
Endemic to Mexico.
