The Japanese Angelica Tree, Aralia elata produces starbursts ofcreamy, umbellate flowers on pink stems in early autumn. The inflorescences sit atop spindly, woody stems, buffered by spans of doubly pinnate foliage. In full flower, they resemble the ornate ruffs of an Elizabethan courtier!
