Gardening Club Archive: June 2020

Gardening hints and tips - from our garden to yours.

We are delighted to bring you a series of videos made by our Horticulture and Learning teams to show what they are doing in their own gardens at home, and to give you some tips and advice on what you can do in yours.

Week 13, 26 June: Pests and Disease Prevention

Do you have problems with whitefly, blackfly, pigeons, slugs or rust? How to prevent pests and diseases from affecting your crops is the topic of this week’s Gardening Club!

Week 12, 19 June: Citizen Science

If you’re interested in attracting more wildlife into your garden and learning to identify it, as well as sharing your sightings with scientists for research, then this week’s Gardening Club is for you! This week, it’s all about becoming a citizen scientist.

Check out our Plant Conservation Inspiration page for a list of different ways that you can get involved to help conserve plants.

Week 11, 12 June: Supporting your growing vegetables

This week, Sandie talks through how to provide support for your growing vegetables. Training, pruning and supporting them as they grow will keep the plants healthy and should mean a good harvest too! Happy gardening!

Week 10, 5 June: Intercropping and successional sowing

Gardening Club is back – catch up on how Sandie’s own vegetable plot is progressing, learn more about intercropping and successional sowing so you can have salads and veg throughout the summer. Happy gardening!

If you’d like to ask Sandie any vegetable gardening questions, please ask them via twitter, facebook or our YouTube channel and she’ll do her best to answer them next week.
