Ticket prices:

Great British Summer Savings

From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the price of adult admission tickets to the Garden will be reduced as part of the Great British Summer Savings scheme. This means that adult tickets are reduced to £8.50 for donation inclusive tickets and £7.60 for standard tickets. As children under 17 visit for free all year round, we hope that this saving will help families to enjoy an affordable, great day in the Garden this summer!

  • This reduced entry offer is for a limited time. Regular prices for Adult donation inclusive tickets is £9.50 and Adult standard tickets are £8.60. These prices will return on 2 September 2026.
  • Guests of Friends of the Garden will also enjoy a discount to their special admission rate. During the promotion the admission rate for guests of Friends will be £7.60 for Donation Inclusive tickets and £6.80 for standard tickets. These tickets will return to their normal price on 2 September.
  • If you have pre-booked tickets for admission to the Garden during this time at the normal price, we will be contacting you to offer a discounted entry on another date.
  • Friends of the Botanic Garden membership is not discounted as part of this scheme, nor are gift vouchers.

 

Normal Ticket Prices

Adult: £8.50
Includes an optional donation of 10% more than the Standard admission price. If you choose to make this donation and are a UK tax payer, we can claim Gift Aid on the whole amount – which creates a 25p donation to the Garden for every £1. Gift Aid is an easy, tax effective way for you to support CUBG. For more information about Gift Aid, please visit the UK Government Gift Aid information page.

Friend of Cambridge University Botanic Garden: FREE
On production of a valid Friends’ Membership Card.

Children 0 – 16 inclusive: FREE
Must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Student at Cambridge University: FREE
On production of a valid University Card.

Essential Carer for Disabled Visitor: FREE
No admission charge is made for companions of disabled visitors without whose assistance the disabled visitor would be unable to gain access to the Garden.

Standard Adult: £7.60

Please note: There is no entry discount for alumni, Camcard holders or staff of Cambridge University.

If you have chosen to pre-book your ticket, please either print your ticket or have your online confirmation ready to show on a mobile device when you get to the gate.

Who can buy tickets in advance?

  • Adults: You are welcome to buy your tickets online in advance or on arrival.
  • Children: Child tickets are free, and can be pre-booked in advance.
  • Groups of 15 or more please see our Group Visits page before buying tickets.
  • Non-UK Schools, Language and Holiday schools (not following the UK curriculum) please see the Language and Holiday Schools page for more information and supervisory guidelines. If visiting in a group of 15 people of more, the relevant booking form must be submitted and approved a week before the visit and before buying tickets. Entry will be refused if supervisory ratios are not correct.
  • You may also buy gift admission tickets in person or order online to make the perfect present for a nature lover.
  • Friends of the Garden enjoy free entry with a current Friends membership card. There is no need for Friends to pre-book tickets just present your card to be scanned when you arrive. To become a Friend, please visit the Friends page.
  • Corporate Members: Corporate Members are also not required to book in advance (unless in a group of 15 people or more) but must present a valid Corporate Membership card to be scanned upon arrival.
  • Cambridge University students enjoy free entry with a valid University of Cambridge student card.
  • Essential Carer for Disabled Visitor – no admission charge is made for companions of disabled visitors without whose assistance the disabled visitor would be unable to gain access to the Garden. Carers do not need to book a ticket, please state that you are an Essential Carer upon arrival.

Additional information on booking advance tickets:

  • Ticket refunds/transfers: Ticket are non-refundable but are transferable between dates – if you set up an account when booking you can change the date of your booking up until 24 hours before the date of your visit.
  • Email Confirmation: If you pre-book, please remember to bring your ‘Order Confirmation’ with you, either on a phone or printed so that it can be scanned at the ticket offices.
