Cambridge University Botanic Garden (CUBG) has been named Best Tourist Attraction in the Cambridge Edition People’s Choice Awards for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its place as one of the city’s most valued destinations.
The annual awards, organised by Cambridge Edition magazine, celebrate the very best of local businesses, organisations, attractions and individuals, with winners decided by public vote.
Director of CUBG, Professor Beverley Glover, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised once again in the Cambridge Edition People’s Choice Awards. This award is particularly meaningful as it reflects the support and appreciation of our visitors and local community. It is a testament to the dedication of our staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to maintain the Garden as a place of beauty, learning and inspiration for all.”
The award reflects the experiences visitors continue to enjoy throughout the year, and this spring the Garden is offering a range of activities for all ages, stunning seasonal displays and a tranquil space to enjoy all that the season brings.
Current spring seasonal highlights include blossom-filled trees, magnolias, striking displays in the Glasshouse Range, alongside the Garden’s National Collections.
The experimental exhibition, Talking Plants, invites visitors to interact with plants in new ways, and a range of trails offers something for all ages and interests.
Throughout the Easter period, free daily tours and bite-sized plant talks offer insights from expert guides and staff, giving visitors the opportunity to explore seasonal highlights and learn more about the Garden’s living collection.
The International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition is also on display in the Garden, showcasing award-winning images from around the world alongside entries inspired by CUBG.
Families can explore the Garden with a new Easter trail and get creative making blossom artwork, paper flowers or learning how to sow seeds and grow at home.
